I have a Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive and have had it for about 3 years. Tonight for some reason, it just quit working. Does anyone know any person or company that would be able to help me retrieve the files from it? Not only does it have several document files on it that I need regularly, it also is where I've been backing up my picture files to, so I'm desperate to retrieve those files.
Thanks!!!

Its a hard drive. There is a chance the driver board has gone bad in which case the drive can be pulled out and data retrieved no problem.
If its the hard drive itself, (they sometimes make a clicking sound) you pretty much have to pull from your backups.
there are companies, none local that I know, that can retrieve the data but they are very expensive.

That situation sounds like an opportunity for someone who has a hard drive docking station. Pull the drive out of the case, put it in the docking station, and see if the data is accessible, yes Bob?
