Downtown’s Holiday Starlight Parade, Lighted Boat Parade, and Fireworks Finale This Saturday, December 8th
Chattanooga, TN…Two great, Chattanooga traditions, the Holiday Starlight Parade and the Lighted Boat Parade are this Saturday, December 8th.
The Holiday Starlight Parade, presented by Volkswagen Chattanooga, begins at 6pm at 5th & Market, travels in front of the TN Aquarium and turns down Broad Street, where it will disperse at 5th & Broad. Following the street parade at 7 PM will be the Lighted Boat Parade, organized by MarineMax. Decorated boats will be parading on the Tennessee River between the Veterans and Olgiati Bridges. The boat parade and fireworks show are presented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 175. The fireworks display will be shot at 8PM from Renaissance Park, making Ross’ Landing the primary viewing area.
A limited number of vendors will be at Ross’ Landing selling hot drinks and snacks, and Santa’s elves will be at the waterfront handing out candy.
The traditional live Nativity scene will also be presented on site by First Baptist Soddy-Daisy.
To further enhance the evening, downtown property owners are being asked to turn on their decorative lights, illuminating over 120 buildings for the holidays and winter season.
Media partners for the Holiday Starlight Parade and Lighted Boat Parade are WRCB-TV3 and Sunny 92.3 radio.
Logistics for the street parade are being handled by The City of Chattanooga Parks And Recreation Department. These events are produced by Chattanooga Presents!
