So, who do we want leading the local law enforcement branch of our local guvmint?
- One: An exceptional leader, one with confidence and ability. One who has dedicated his full attention to reducing overall crime with a realistic agenda.
One who was once a street cop and who has always tried to do the right thing, at the potential political expense of potential promotions. One who consistently remains under budget for his department. One who has striven to recruit the best men and women, from the community, to be police officers. One who will lead the citizens, and the LE community, in the right direction.
One who truly cares about police personnel by rewarding the good cops and disciplining (Or terminating and prosecuting) the bad ones. One who says what he means and means what he says. One who truly cares about the citizens of Chattanooga and Hamilton County, and one who wants (More than anything) for Chattanooga and Hamilton County to be a safe place to live, work, and visit. - Two: Then there is 'other chief'... Style over substance. Politically correct and in the right political place, at the right political time. Ineffective and incompetent, yet talks nice and his uniform is ALWAYS pressed, and his car spotless, as he drives into his reserved parking space! One who tries to lead by following the political wind of the moment. One who tries to lead by demanding respect, based on an unearned, appointed position, instead of simply earning respect. The chief who got to where he/she is based not on ability, seniority or integrity, but on sucking up to those who count votes.
(More to follow, on either of the two (2) aforementioned LE bosses, or so I have been told.)
