I've heard many a rumor that real Coke (cane sugar) can be purchased at various Latin American stores here. Anybody know of any specific store that carries it?

Possibly Fresh Market? Not sure, but it's worth a try.

Check the yellow pages for Latino stores, check the international food sections in large grocery stores, and check Google to at least see what the product looks like to make it more identifiable if you do see it. I'm a seasoned shopper...I write a lot of "checks".

Hey Laura, remember when they screwed with Coke for the new Coke? It was 85 when they did that and it backfired on Coke.

Hey Laura, remember when they screwed with Coke for the new Coke? It was 85 when they did that and it backfired on Coke. Yep... they messed with the recipe and in my opinion it has never tasted the same... Even when they tried to go back to the old one. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it!!

BiLo used to sell it in their Latin food isle and then one day they up and stopped selling it. It could be just the specific BiLo that I was shopping at. Bottled Coke anyway is just better, way better.
Speaking of Coke. I was talking with one of the Coke reps the other day and they were saying that the price of Coke would be going up. When asked why he said it was because people are getting too fat off drinking regular Coke products. I assume they are using the cigarette pricing concept. I wonder if they are just trying to further promote Coke Zero. I have to say that if they ever discontinue making that I will probably just die..

The grocery next to La Altena at Main and Broad has them. Ive got 4 in my fridge right now. Carniceria Loa is an inviting place and you can find all kinds of crazy good food there. The produce section is not like anything you have ever seen. The name of the place roughly translates that it is a butcher shop and the meat case is the largest in Chattanooga. Good place to check out. If you want "REAL" cokes, walk in, hang a left and then a right and look in the cooler.
