The Huddle House on Hixson Pike next to "On the Run" Gas Station going towards Riverview is now closed. Sad Sad They had a wonderful cheap breakfast, the staff where very nice. They also had it all fixed up inside for Christmas!!
Does anyone have any details of why they might have Closed down. My guess is lack of business. Sorry to see them go....

The one near the railraod tracks on Hixson Pike near the railroad tracks is located in a very bad spot. I doubt that one will be around much longer either.

Too much "huddle" and not enough "house" is my guess.

Aww damn. I wonder why they closed it? It hasn't even been open a year yet I don't believe.

Dang! That was FAST! We just drove by it the other night around 9:30 and wondered why the lights were off. We discussed it the rest of the way home. Guess I know now why they were closed so early.

Back in ATL, we liked Huddle House as an alternative to "that other place," since you can get a baked potato at HH. But we tried the one here, on Brainerd, and the service was way below sub-par. As in, ignored by someone who was literally counting down the minutes until her shift ended -- giving us sidelong glances in the hopes that we wouldn't actually demand that she come over and give us food in exchange for money. We never went back or even thought about it.

It's closed? Bummer. Had their sweet potato fries in November. I hate that they're not there.

I've only worked 2 or 3 shootings there....the drug selling on the lot is USUALLY very cordial. It is rare to find such a family-friendly place in East Chattanooga.....

LOL Cute little blonde pulls up in her Jeep, gets out... turns around to get purse out of the backseat floorboard and POOF... Gone! How in the hell they steal them that fast from Blondes is beyond me... But they do! Not my Jeep... NO SIR! I will stay in my safety ZONE across the river thanks... Over on that side I only have to worry about 'extra hands wandering' in bars not missing any of my stuff!

I agree with ya, Coaster. The HH near Abba's House always seems like a ghost town when I drive by, but to be fair, I'd think the pace picks up when the Hixson Holiday Bowl closes.
I'm not crazy about the service at the Soddy Huddle House, but they were freakin' busy. Even the drug dealers were slow and rude, LR.

I really like Huddle House and it seems to be a bit cheaper than Waffle House. I have always noticed that the service at the HH is a bit subpar when you compare it to WH. Waffle House has always had great service.......everywhere

I think it's hilarious that some folks think that Waffle House is expensive ... too funny!

WD, have you been talkin' to my mother? She's the only person I know who'd fuss about the Waffle House prices.

I dont really think WH is expensive, its just that HH is cheaper and about the same quality of food.

WD, have you been talkin' to my mother? She's the only person I know who'd fuss about the Waffle House prices. The boyfriend and I ate two meals at Waffle House for a grand total of $10.61 (with tax) after deplaning in Indianapolis last month. My roommate nursed a hangover with me (her hangover, that is) at Cracker Barrel yesterday. We had a boatload of food for less than $15 between the two of us. Her hangover was fleeting and we had a great meal. It is possible to eat good, cheap food ... It sucks to go out and spend a lot of money on dinner, only to be disappointed in the quality or portion.

Hehe, that's been my problem with expensive places. I can eat for $8 at Waffle House, or $80 at St. Johns. St. Johns is better, but to me, it isn't ten times better. Four times, five maybe, but not ten.
