It looks like the downtown Nestlé Toll House Café and Brick House Subs has closed. I guess they needed more than my once-per-year purchase of a cookie cake. That cookie cake is the best, though.

The one on Gunbarrel has been closed for quite some time.

So, Janet - any word on why the Tropical Smoothie Cafe closed? I would assume not enough business, but I loved the smoothies and miss it.

I blame myself. Last year for Christmas, one of my customers gave me a gift card for the Nestle` Toll House Cafe` and it's still in my wallet unused.

I don't know what happened to Tropical Smoothie. I stopped there on my way to work several times and got a smoothie, then one morning they were "papered up". Every time I went there they had customers. Maybe they just didn't give it a chance.
To me the tollhouse was too expensive. I stopped there for cookies for a meeting one day - bought 18 and it was over $30! A few days later I bought a tray of about 3 dozen (of course they were smaller, but really delicious) from the Acropolis for about $15! Another thing was that they only offered sandwiches - no soup or salads. Not enough variety for lunch.
