Restaurant Review by Janet Wilson Recently, after seeing the deep dish commercials, Wayne and I decided to give Pizza Hut delivery a try. Looks can be deceiving on commercials. We were told it would be a bit over an hour (we’re only five minutes away), but they could have been really busy on a Monday night. On TV the pizzas appear to be chocked full of ingredients, but the hut that prepared ours must not have seen the commercial! The pizza was far from hot upon arrival. In addition to the small distribution of toppings, the crust was soggy and limp. This certainly did not satisfy our hankering for pizza (we’ve been spoiled by Lupi’s, but didn’t want to get out on this particular night and Lupi’s doesn’t deliver). I used to live in Chicago and ate a lot of pizza in those days, and believe me, I don’t ever remember being served a soggy crust, deep dish pizza. A week later, since we had been really busy preparing for visitors and the holidays, we thought we would again try to order a pizza – this time giving someone else a chance. We decided on Vinny & Joe’s, located at 6025 E. Brainerd Road (at Lee Highway). www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_119197.asp

I have been a satisfied Vinny & Joe's customer ever since they opened their Red Bank store. You just can't beat their "Take-out Special": extra-large (that's a 16-inch pizza, folks!) 1-topping New York style pie for $6.99. A comparable offering from Pizza Hut would be over 20 bucks because you'd have to order double toppings to match the coverage that V&J does on their pizzas. I haven't gone to Pizza Hut since V&J opened. With V&J, your money is buying a pizza...with Pizza Hut, your money is paying their advertising budget.

Vinny & Joe's provided pizza for our employees during the Holidays. The response was overwhelmingly positive. One nit picker complained that the sauce as too sweet and another thought that there was not enough sauce. Those two negative comments from over 100 associates. The delivery people were very friendly. As the person writing the check I was very pleased with the price and the product.
