posted April 4, 2007 A year-and-a-half-old girl died in a house fire on Sand Mountain on Wednesday morning. The great-grandmother of Deliah Brown said the fire apparently started when the girl's two-year-old brother was playing with a cigarette lighter. She tried to get all the children out, but could not reach the girl because of heavy smoke. It took firefighters two hours to get the fire out at the small house on Dennis Road in Dade County. Damn. Does Heaven need that many angels?
We could use some down here.

That is so sad! What in the world was a 2 year old doing with a lighter?! I read another account that the slightly older child saw it and went to tell gr. grandmother, but by the time they reached him, the fire had started. Until the grandchildren came, I would have thought it impossible for a two yr old to work a lighter. They can do ANYTHING! Why would she even had a lighter or smoke with oxygen bottles around? She didn't need to smoke!
