CPD is reporting a shooting of a juvenile, the first info we have is shot to the thigh, we have no other info the child has been taken to TC Thompsons ER. As
soon as I get more I will send it out. Communications does not have anymore info than this. I will advisw further.

Update: The reported shooting has occured at 700 Orchard Knob Ave. A 13 and 12 yo were playing with a gun and the gun accidently went off. The victim is going to sugery, however it is not life threatening.
Children services will follow up along with child abuse detectives

UPDATE
05/14/07
This weekend on May 12th, Chattanooga police Department Child Abuse Investigators were called to T.C. Thompson’s Hospital regarding a 12 year old who had been admitted with a gunshot wound to the thigh.
According to the victim he was a passenger in a vehicle that was driven by 18 year old Titus Heard when he was accidentally shot, the victim stated he and Heard were driving in the area of Citico Ave and N. Highland Park Ave when they pulled up to another 12 year old, the other 12 year old then leaned into the car and began horsing around with a 25 cal. Pistol.
The victim told him to stop playing and the gun accidentally went off shooting the victim in the thigh. The victim was then transported to the hospital where he went into surgery, his injuries were not life threatening.
The 12 year old suspect has being charged with Reckless Endangerment and is currently at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center .
