Chattanooga Police Department Homicide detectives arrested Jamar McField 21 of Chattanooga and charged him with Criminal Homicide and Aggravated Child Abuse.
These charges stem from the death of 4 year old Keanon Beamon on Wednesday this week. McField has been booked at the Hamilton County Jail on these charges.
These charges were brought after the results of an autopsy yesterday by the medical examiners office. McField is the boyfriend of the child’s mother and his address was the same as the location of the incident.

Chattanooga Police report the final stats on the Sector 2 Saturation that was conducted on 09/21/07:

Chattanooga Police are updating the stats on the sector 2 saturation,
As of 8:00 pm there have been 60 arrest made of various offenses.
Herana Turner was arrested at 1715 S. Hawthorne St. on an outstanding warrant for Especially Aggravated Robbery; he was taken into custody without incident.
At 3996 A Arbor Place Lane, Patrol received a complaint of a foul odor coming from this apartment. The officers checked the apartment and found the
tenants had recently moved an left behind 12 dried marijuana plants. Narcotics Investigators were called to the scene and took custody of the plants. The street value of this recovery is $38,400. This investigation will continue.
This operation will continue thru the night and updated numbers will be sent out tomorrow.

Chattanooga Police are hosting their 6th Crime Suppression, Sector 2 Saturation. Along with the Hamilton County Sheriffs Department, US Marshal’s Office, ATF and FBI are working together in saturating Hwy 58, East Chattanooga, Highland Park , East Lake and Rossville Blvd area.
This initiative kicked off early this morning when officers of the CPD Special Investigation Unit, CPD Highway Interdiction Team (HIT), HCSO Fugitive Detectives and Federal Agents hit the streets in search of repeat offenders and offenders who continually violate the law.
The CPD HIT team stopped a suspicious vehicle near I - 75 and me I - 24 split for traffic violations, while checking the vehicle the K9 unit that is part of the HIT team alerted on the vehicle and officers found $33,330.00 dollars in cash, the K9 alerted on the money.
Isreal Asaiah a student at the University of Kentucky was cited on numerous traffic citations and officers seized the cash money.
Shortly after this stop, the HIT team became involved in a short pursuit of a vehicle driven by Alvin Buchanan of Chattanooga, he was stopped at exit 11 on I75 and was found to be in the possession of 5 ounces of Marijuana, street value of $25,000.00 dollars and 25 ecstasy pills.
Buchanan was charged with several felonies including possession of a controlled substance for resale, possession of marijuana for resale, felony evading.
The Chattanooga Police Narcotics and Vice Units conducted a prostitution sting in the Main and Willow St. areas where 8 arrests were made. Six of the eight that were arrested were charged with prostitution within 1 ½ miles of a school.
It should also be noted almost all of these subjects arrested were repeat offenders they were either on probation for prostitution arrest, narcotics arrest or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators have also arrested Faye Lynn Hayworth of East Ridge ; she was a fugitive from Alabama and will be extradited by Alabama officials.
As of 3:00 pm there have been 28 other arrest made and 38 charges filed. There will be another update around 9:00 pm of other arrest.
Police are still searching for 3 other suspects in connection with the armed robbery at the Knights of Columbus robbery.
As soon as the updates come in I will make them available.

The Sector Two Saturations has yielded several arrests with on of them being from yesterday’s robbery of the Knights of Columbus hall. Jefferson Blake Kirkland was taken into custody by fugitive investigators at 4800 Bonny Lake Lane . Kirkland was wanted by Chattanooga Police Robbery investigators in connection with the incident.
Kirkland is believed to be the getaway driver and has been charged with 11 counts of aggravated robbery. According to witnesses, three black male suspects entered the hall and robbed the participants of an undisclosed amount of money while the driver waited outside for their escape.
Kirkland was processed after his arrest at the Chattanooga Police Department Fire and Police Training Center and will be transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he will be housed until he can go before a magistrate.

Chattanooga Police responded on domestic stabbing incident last night around 10:30 at 2204 1/2 Bailey Ave.
Police found Jackie Morris and Kenneth Wigfall sitting outside of the residence when they arrived. Morris told police that she and Wigfall had an argument and that afterward; Wigfall became angry and started choking her.
She stated that she was able to get away from him, but that he came at her again and she grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the back. Wigfall did have several stab wounds on his back and as a result was taken to Erlanger hospital where he was admitted for his injuries.
Jackie Morris was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Domestic Violence detectives are investigating the incident. The current condition of Wigfall isn’t known.

Police have confirmed the identity of both victim and suspect from last night’s homicide at 3700 Fagan St.
32-yr-old Jaquesta Ballew was killed in her apartment after a confrontation with her boyfriend, 30-yr-old Oscar Dimery. Police responded to 3700 Fagan St . Apt. C on a disturbance call after a neighbor reported a loud commotion going on in an adjacent apartment.
According to the neighbor, Ballew yelled out to call the police. When police arrived, Ballew was found dead inside her apartment. The neighbor reported seeing Oscar Dimery in the apartment at the time of the commotion.
Chattanooga Fugitive Investigators located Dimery on a traffic stop at 12:44 am and arrested him in connection with the murder. Dimery was also arrest on May 25, 2007 for domestic violence against Ballew.
According to police reports, Ballew attempted to leave Dimery and called her mother to pick her up. When she tried to enter her mother’s car, Dimery pulled her out of the car, punched her in the face and threw her to the ground. She was able to get away from Dimery after witnesses pulled him off of her and called police.
The exact manner of Ballew’s death is pending the M.E. report. Dimery was arrested for Criminal Homicide and is housed at the Hamilton County Jail.

Chattanooga Police and Fire Department are on the scene at Brainerd High 1020 N. Moore Rd. on possible mace being sprayed in the school.
Officers report earlier this morning two females got into a fight in the hallway and someone sprayed mace in the building.

The Chattanooga Police Department Regulatory Bureau and the Community Anti Drug Coalition across Hamilton County worked together and conducted a compliance check at 10 local convenience stores on Sept 11th, 2007.
All 10 stores that were checked passed and did not sale to the underage buyer. All 10 stores checked the buyers ID and refused the sale.

At approximately 3:30 am this morning, Major Crimes Investigators were notified of a shooting victim at Erlanger Hospital . According to investigators Charles Brown IV 21, of Carousel Dr. and a friend were traveling in an Oldsmobile on Hillwood Dr when an unknown black male walking shot into the vehicle striking Brown in the left cheek.
Mr. Brown described the suspect as a black male wearing a red hat, white tank top and jeans.
Mr. Brown has been treated and released.
No arrests have been made and investigation is continuing.

Chattanooga Police have made an arrest in the cities 13th homicide that occurred yesterday at the Rustic Village Apartments at 510 Central Dr .
On September 10th, around 3:00 pm, police were called to 510 Central Dr. Apt. 510 B on a deceased female. Upon the arrival police talked with Ernest Hubbard who stated he had went to visit his girlfriend Tonya Gladden 43, and when he went to the door he found it partially open. He went inside and found Ms. Gladden unresponsive and he called the police.
Major Crimes Investigators responded and through investigation it was learned that
Roland Smith Jr. 43 of 510 Central Dr. Apt. 503 had become angry at the victim over crack cocaine.
The cause of death is still undetermined pending the findings at the medical examiners office.
Roland Lorenza Smith Jr. is charged with first degree murder and especially aggravated burglary.

Chattanooga Homicide Investigators have made an arrest in Chattanooga ’s 12th homicide.
Jason Osmond Hines was taken into custody at the Overlook Apartments without incident.
Hines will be charged with Felony first degree murder and Attempted especially aggravated robbery in the shooting death of Terrell Harris. Hines will be transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Chattanooga Police Domestic Violence Investigators are currently investigating an earlier morning stabbing of a mother and daughter that occurred at 4922 Marylyn Lane in Brainerd.
Chattanooga Police were told by the 14 year old daughter; her mother ex boyfriend Gary Lee Brown entered the residence through an unlocked back door without their knowledge and went into her mother’s room where she heard her mother scream. Brown stabbed Kimsha Ware in the neck under her chin, he then attempted to flee and as he was making his escape he grabbed the daughter and cut her on the upper chest.
The daughter did not require medical attention; however Kimsha Ware was transported to Erlanger Hospital where her injuries are reported as non life threatening.
Investigators are looking for Gary Lee Brown, black male 39, the last known address is 302 Wygoda Circle and 2006 Portland St. in Chattanooga for Domestic Aggravated Assault, aggravated assault and especially aggravated burglary.
If anyone has information on Gary Lee Brown we are asking them to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525.

Chattanooga Police have arrested a juvenile and charged him with Filing a false police report and Unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting that occurred September 5th, 2007 at 710 S. Highland park Ave.
Around 10:00 pm the sixteen year old victim alleged he was on S. Highland Park Ave. when a black Chevrolet pulled up and a black male shot him in the leg.
The sixteen year old was transported to Erlanger where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Today the juvenile confessed to the investigators he had made the story up and his allegations of a black male in a black Chevrolet shooting him was not truthful.
The juvenile was charged and transported to Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Auto Theft Ring
An on-going investigation between multiple jurisdictions and law enforcement agencies has yielded the recovery of hundreds of thousands of dollars in property. The Chattanooga Police Department Auto Theft Division along with members of the Hamilton County Sherriff’s Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Athens Police Department, ATF Task Force and National Insurance Bureau executed a search warrant at 7422 Old Cleveland Pike in Chattanooga The search warrant and investigation targeted the possession of stolen vehicles, alteration of vehicle identification numbers, and insurance fraud.
The Chattanooga investigation surrounds Jerry D. Lee, Sr. who resides at this location. During the investigation at this location,12 vehicles and trailers, specifically a 40 foot Monaco RV; 2 Chevy Corvettes; 3 Jeeps; 1 Ford Van; 2 enclosed trailers;1 open car hauler; 1 1957 Chevy and a 1964 GMC truck were confiscated. Detectives confirmed 5 vehicles stolen at the scene but, the remainder of the vehicles has altered numbers and will have to be inspected further for true identification.
Detectives located a 12 gauge shotgun inside the residence, which was collected by the CPD Crime Scene Unit for processing as Jerry Lee is a convicted felon. Miscellaneous documents such as titles and insurance papers as well as a small amount of marijuana residue and paraphernalia were also collected during the search of the home.
Simultaneously, in Athens , investigators with the TBI, Athens P.D. and the ATF Task Force executed a federal warrant related to the investigation. The result of this warrant was the arrest of Ed Orr, for federal firearms violations after 2 weapons were seized and $10,000.00 in stolen property recovered. There are additional vehicles in Athens that are possibly stolen as well but have not been identified to date. The vehicles that were confiscated have been stored at the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office Impound for further processing.
Law enforcement officials will be available today at the Chattanooga Police Department Services Center at 1:15 to give comment on the collaborative efforts for this investigation. ---- Sgt. Jerri Weary, PIO Chattanooga Police Department

The Chattanooga Police Department Major Crimes Division found some major contraband while trying to gather information on an open investigation.
A warrant was executed last night around 9:06 pm at 1319 Roanoke Avenue after police received information that the house may be connected to one of their investigations.
As a result of the search warrant, a SKS assault rifle and 2 pistols; ammunition; and a bag containing 20 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine was located in the house. Among those arrested were 28-yr-old Ronald Jacoway Jr; 23-yr-old Quincy Mills; 28-yr-old Deaubrey Carr; and 27-yr-old Anthony Jones.
All were charged with cocaine for resale and felonious possession of a firearm. Investigators are working to determine whether the suspects arrested are tied to any of their open investigations.

Chattanooga Police Homicide Detectives have arrested Michael Eddins of 1916 Blackford St. and charged him with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault in connection with stabbing of Marvin Wallace that occurred on Reece St. yesterday.
According to the detectives Eddins is a driver for Millennium Cab Company and got into a dispute with Wallace, which resulted in Wallace being stabbed and struck in the head with a bottle.
Wallace is still being treated at Erlanger Hospital.
Eddins is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

An early morning stabbing sent a Chattanooga Man to the hospital. Marvin Wallace was stabbed around 6:00 this morning in the 2600 block if Reece Street . Wallace told police that he was hanging out with an unknown person when he was approached by a man.
The unknown individual ran away when the suspect approached. Wallace told the suspect that his companion had just taken off. The suspect then focused his aggression on Wallace. A struggle ensued between Wallace and the suspect, whereby Wallace was stabbed twice in the side and hit in the head with a bottle.
Wallace was taken to Erlanger Hospital where he in currently in surgery, but reported to have non life threatening injuries. Chattanooga Police Major Crimes Investigators are following suspect leads.

Chattanooga Police saturated the Sector 3 area of Chattanooga yesterday in an effort to reduce crime in the Eastdale, Hwy 58, Brainerd, Shepherd and Hamilton Place area.
As a result of these efforts by law enforcement agencies, there were 7 felony arrest, 46 misdemeanor arrest, 278 moving citations, 48 field interviews conducted 53 warning citations $2,619 dollars were seized, 10 code inspections and 18 code violations. Police also seized 2 vehicles and served 11 search warrants. Later in the night the DUI Unit worked sobriety check points and stopped and checked 163 vehicles and there drivers.
This was another successful operation for law enforcement and these communities. Deputy Chief Rawlston has stated this will be a continued effort for the police and the communities we serve.

As of 4 pm today, the morning tally from the Sector III roundup yielded 23 citations, and 13 arrests with 19 charges. Of those arrests, 5 were for domestic assault; 2 for possession of marijuana for resale; 2 for aggravated assault; 1 for vehicular assault; 2 for DUI; 1 for theft under $500; 1 for contempt of court on child support; 1 for driving on a revoked license; and 1 for stop sign violation. Various law enforcement agencies have teamed up again to saturate the Brainerd area in effort to round up fugitives and conduct other law enforcement activities.
The Chattanooga Police Traffic Division began the saturation Thursday night, August 23rd, with a DUI roadblock in East Brainerd.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department; Chattanooga Police Department; United States Marshal Service; Chattanooga Housing Authority Police; TN Department of Probation and Parole; Federal Bureau of Investigations and several social service agencies of the greater Chattanooga resumed saturation activity at 7 am today. The Sector three function will be worked in the following phases. Traffic and Fugitive working from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, August 24th
a. Fugitive serving warrants. b. Traffic working on some of the locations given to us through Chief Cooper’s Office, neighborhood complaints and areas identified by the Sergeants.
Uniform Saturation from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, August 24th

Chattanooga Police Special Investigations Unit with the assistance of Bravo team officers and UTC Police have arrested Lonzo Aben Richmond Jr. 23, of 1341 Village Green Dr. Chattanooga and charged him with Felonious Reckless Endangerment, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon on school property.
This arrest stems from an incident that occurred yesterday at the UTC Campus Food Court in the Student Center around 12:40 pm. Witnesses stated Mr. Richmond and another unidentified man began arguing over the promotion of a concert that had been held at a local establishment in Chattanooga.
It was reported Mr. Richmond was seen waving a gun and pointing it at several people inside the Student Center . Mr. Richmond fled the scene; however several of the witnesses gave information and a photo line up was put together and Mr. Richmond was positively identified as the suspect waving the gun. UTC Police and Chattanooga Police Bravo Team checked several dorm rooms for Mr. Richmond and could not find him.
He was later located by cell phone and stated he was out of town and would return and turn himself in. Around 2:45 am Mr. Richmond turned himself into the Hamilton County Jail.

Investigators of the Chattanooga Special Investigations Unit along with the Safe Streets Task Force (FBI) have taken Jack Breneman into custody at 1212 Glenwood Dr. in Chattanooga .
Earlier today Breneman robbed the Sun Trust Bank at 7000 Lee Hwy, he was known to be driving a 2001 Ford F150 black pickup truck. Investigators began looking for him in this truck and spotted the truck parked at a residence at 1212 Glenwood Dr.
Chattanooga Police SIU and SSTF with the Chattanooga SWAT team made entry into the residence and took Breneman into custody without incident. Investigators also recovered the Ford pickup truck which has been confirmed stolen out of Nashville .
Brenenman will be taken to the local FBI office for processing and then transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he will be held until his initial appearance at US Federal Court.
Breneman will face two charges of bank robbery and auto theft.

Earlier this morning around 10:00 am Chattanooga Police received a hold up alarm at the Sun Trust Bank at 7000 Lee Hwy.
Upon arrival police determined the suspect to be same suspect as yesterdays bank robbery at Regions Bank at 5515 Brainerd rd.
According to the bank employee’s the suspect entered the bank and told a teller he wanted the money, he did not produce a weapon; however he eluded he had a weapon in his possession.
Chattanooga Police and the FBI have identified the suspect as Jack Breneman Jr. a white male who is 46 years of age; he is 5’10 in height and 210 pounds. Breneman has blondish gray hair and blue eyes. The suspect vehicle is a black 2000 model Ford F150 pick up truck with TN registration 370HWG. This vehicle has been reported stolen in Nashville .
Chattanooga police are requesting anyone knowing the whereabouts of Jack Breneman or spots the suspect vehicle to call Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525 or the FBI at 265-3601.

Earlier this morning Chattanooga Police Alpha Team responded to a burglar alarm at the Valley Brook Golf and Country Club.
The call came in at 5:33 am and police were on the scene at 5:37, when they arrived the officer’s observed a black Jaguar in the driveway, still running and inside were approximately 20 bottles of alcohol.
The officer then checked the building and found two large glass windowpanes had been broken out by a large rock. The officers observed the suspect running thru the building.
A search was conducted by the officers and K9 units were dispatched to the scene. Officers found Jonathon Adams asleep in a locked closet.
Adams was arrested for Burglary, Felony Vandalism and Theft over $500 dollars.

Early this morning Chattanooga Police responded to a traffic accident with injuries at 7900 East Brainerd Rd.
Upon the arrival it was learned Derrick Whytsell was traveling east on East Brainerd in his 1994 Jeep Sport and struck a curb, loosing control of the vehicle causing it to roll over.
A female passenger was seriously injured and transported to Erlanger Hospital .
Whytsell refused any medical treatment, however he was arrested for DUI, Driving on Revoked and because of the extent of the passenger’s injuries he is also charged with Vehicular Assault.
Whytsell is currently in the Hamilton County Jail.
