I have Direct Tv without HD and a DSL with ATT. I just don't have a good line of sight for the HD satellite. If I switch to EPB, I can have HD with the quad DVR and an ISP that is 10X faster for about $10 more a month. I think it's worth the switch. To bad they don't have the NFL Network. Maybe they will by the time they come into Red Bank.

Placed my order with EPB today! Yeah..No more Comcast after next week. Saved approx $50 a month for equal service, except EPB'S DVR records 4 programs at once versus Comcast's two. I can also watch the recorded shows on all the tv's in the house. I live on Missionary Ridge. She said most of central and North Chatt is ready or will be in a few days, the outlying places like East Ridge and Red Bank will be over the next year. Hmmm... I live right on the border of North Chatt in Redbank. One of my neighbors is a tester. I wonder if it's a gradual rollout through Red bank. The line is up so it seems like it wouldn't be hard. Not sure how that works though. I sure would like to know a time frame. Would love to catch the start of college football(FSU/Miami) without having to add more service to Comcast. What are their packages? Actual dollars etc.. Edit: They have a page up now that lists the pricing, packages and other info: epbfi.com/

The service officially launched today. The website says it's available at my address. Now just have to convince the wife. She likes so drag her heels on stuff like this.

Their basic cable package was less about $5. All the other services were higher than comcast.

I watched one of their work crews putting up cable in our cul-de-sac day before yesterday. And we're moving this weekend! I hope it moves into Harrison soon.

Is the EPBFi package compatible with Tivo? Has anyone had experience with this?

Just had my first hiccup with Directv after 6 years of no issues. I finally had a problem with channels going out, and it took two service calls(I pay extra for protection) before he fixed it. On trip #1 he replaced my receiver and it was the new one which is HD capable. Well I guess he had HD activated because I didn't and when this months bill arrived, I had a $10 a month charge for HD. I called them this morning about it, and after about 5 minutes on the phone, they are letting me keep getting the HD signal at no charge....forever.
I love DirecTV.

They are where I'm going. I've already scheduled my transfer. And technically, I suppose I'm not in Harrison proper but it is close enough for me.

I understand that but if one already has a Tivo why throw away that technology that's paid for and start renting technology from the EPB? I have a friend who has a couple of Tivos that are bought and paid for and he's familiar with how they work. If he gets FiTV are the Tivos boat anchors?

Tivo Series 3 and HD will be rendered useless, as they require a conventional cable system, which EPB is not. Series 2 should work since it just controls the cable box and takes the output from it.

I hope you're right. I have a Series 2 Tivo w/lifetime that I've moved to the bedroom since getting an HDTV. I guess having a Series 2 will turn out to be a good thing afterall. I wonder if it can get guide information etc. hmmm
