Things are very unsettled. I guess that is a polite way of explaining. The virus that has infected his chest area is related to HIV. It is attacking cell type 7. It is a result of the chemo. The pneumonia is CPC or PCP. He was taken off of the IV because of fluid retention. He is now receiving transfusions. Oh, they are also taking him off of antibiotics. ? I know, you can't kill a viral infection with antibiotics. I know, I know. But something has to get better and continue to get better. So far, anytime there is good news, the bad news is worse. His tongue is so swollen and dry, that he can't speak. He will turn his head, his lips will move to the tune of I Love You. I will not kiss those lips. They will start bleeding again. When his lips start to bleed, the blood will drip down his chin and neck. The fever blisters are vicious. I feel like the movie "Beetlejuice" I love that man of mine. I just pray I will have him for several more years.

can I (or Karen and I) help ? you know we will. If visiting and proving he has a friend he never met will help, let me/us know.

My heart is crying out for you and him.
Please, if there's something any of us can do. Come visit, take the furry children out for a bathroom break, anything....

Marinol is a legal substance. It's synthetic THC.

Thanks to all of you. I appreciate your kindness. I have things under control. Sometimes I like to sit in a corner and cry. I have been assured that his health will get better.
Again, thanks - very much.

You cry any time you need to. I will take the assurance that he'll get better to heart and add my own belief that he'll get better.

I'm so sorry to hear that he appears to be getting worse. Maybe you could think of it like a good house cleaning. You gotta pull all the junk out in the middle of the floor to get the stubborn dirt out of the corners, then put everything back away nice and clean an neat. Right now, all that chemo is tossing junk out in the street. It looks bad at the moment, but when you start putting things back together and where they belong, it will be so nice. And you both will feel the satisfaction of a job well done.
And don't forget that foreheads, cheeks and hands are good for kissing, also. Be strong girlfriend. You can do it. Just let it out when you need to, then suck it up, put on a good face and go back in there to show him that you love him, need him and want him to be better.

Paleeze, don't mention house cleaning. I expect the health department to burn the place down. It is amazing just how long that bowl of chili can sit in the frig. It is amazing just how many pairs of undies I have. It is amazing how long potatoes keep.
Uhm, wonder where the little gnats are coming from? Maybe I'd better check those potatoes.

Housework has been much on my mind lately. I do "Spring cleaning" at an odd time... After Halloween and before Christmas.
Yesterday, my niece helped me clean out the 'garage' behind the shop. What a frelling mess! There was lumber under one of the racks that had gotten wet and then laid there so long that it was rotted or bug eaten to the point of not only looking like corrugated cardboard with part of the top layer pealed off, it was as light as paper! An actual cardboard box had decayed in such a manner as to make it feel like some sort of oiled cloth more than paper. Very strange. Rather scary. We removed it all with a hoe and a broom, scooping every thing up and into a trash bag while trying not to look to closely.
I can't remember my garage floor looking so good! It's all swept clean and there is nothing left touching the concrete that might get icky-fied should water get in there again.
We made some good progress on the attic as well. Now we just have to finish that and do the upstairs section of the garage....and then....
Any tough job that needs to be done is better when you have friends along to help. That's what we're here for sweetie. To help you get through all this mess. Once it's all cleaned up, you'll feel SO much better. Hugs!

Sounds right to me. That's when I do it too.
Try "fall". Winter starts four days before Christmas, and those four days are no good for cleaning.

He is home. Doesn't have the strength to stand up and walk, he has a walker. He is on O2. But, he is eating better.
There are two types of HIV, positive and negative. One causes fever blisters and the other AIDS. The one that causes fever blisters mutated, because of the chemo, and attacked his lungs causing the pneumonia.
Hopefully, he is on the mend for that. The other problem, he is suppose to have chemo every three weeks. His last chemo was six weeks ago. According the doctor's, it may be another six weeks before the infection is gone and he can resume chemo. I won't know until Monday what this may mean for his cancer.

Hurray! Having your loved on home and eating is such a good way to spend Thanksgiving.
I had not heard of the +/- HIV types. Guess that's sort of like Herpes. One gives you cold sores and ...well... you know.

I want to thank all of you. Your kindness has given me strength. Things are better. When you are this far down, better is really great. He developed an allergy to the anti viral medication. Are you ready? ? He is now on the same medication used to treat leprosy. He has gained weight. He is eight weeks behind in chemo. His ICD had to be adusted twice in the same day. But, God is good and things are looking up. A wet tongue always helps. Plus the cute wag of the tail.

The weight gain is good news.
There are more people praying for you and him than you might imagine. Yes, God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I'm glad to see you back.

His dog just peed on the bed, and I'm the one that had to change the bed. He is the one that has to wash the sheets. Now, I'd like to see him fold the fitted sheet, to my satisfaction.

OK, he can fold fitted sheets. But he can't fold the pillow cases. And, he can't fold towels properly. But he kisses good. And the hugs are wonderful. I just hate to cry on his shoulder.
