Tiring of paying way too much for a pack of smokes, paying beaucoup taxes and unable to quit, I have gone organic! This tobacco has no additives or preservatives and is therefore healthy and "Green"! The machine will pay for itself (About $40.00) after manufacturing the first carton. @13.00 for 4-5 cartons worth of tobacco and @$3.00 for 200 tubes/filters. A little bit labor intensive (@15 minutes for 2 packs) unless you make your kids do it as a Arts and Crafts project for you homeschoolers. Or work towards an "American Labor" merit badge for the Boy Scouts. Still working on the brand of tobacco I prefer and getting the exact amount for each cigarette. The cigarettes actually stay lit, too. The State of Tennessee and Phillip Morris probably will take me off their Christmas card list, though. If I can learn to make beer ("Chemistry" merit badge) I'll be fully prepared for the Apocalypse.

Learn to make beef jerky too, and dry your fruit and vegetables for longer storage, so's you and and your family can stay alive while you're waiting to be eaten.

I saw it on the rack. Which is the best? I used to smoke Marlboro Special Blend.
The 4 Aces, "Mellow" is a pretty close match.
Did they have these machines in 1976-1979? It would have saved me a lot of "twisting up" time.

I bet the filters would have taken the "skunk" out of the Skunk.
Tried to smoke a filterless Camel once, and I felt like I was mainlining some China White, but with a cough.

At the store across from the Pit Stop, north of RedBankistan. Most smoke shops have several brands available.
I settled on the Top-o-Matic item.

Nice. I actually quit back towards the end of November because of the high cost of smoking. Then I quit again in early Dec. And again after Xmas. And again round the middle of this month I have since decided to take the same route you have taken. I've already picked up my roller (little cheap plastic one) and a box of tubes. Still haven't decided on which tobacco to go with. Marlboro reds is the flavor I'm after if anyone has any suggestions.

The machine I got seems to be sturdy (Top-o-Matic) enough and the 4 Aces "mellow" is better than the Today "regular" I started with. Gonna try Jay's recommendation next.

I am on my 3rd machine and actually 1 lb of tobacco makes 2 Cartons on regular cigarettes. Around Chattanooga 1 Lb is $13.99. In Knoxville and Newport, TN a 1 lb bag of 4 aces tobacco is $12.49 Athens is also I think $13,99. As far as tubes I buy Double Diamond Tubes at $2.99 for a carton for 100 Lights. The best machine to use is the Top-O-Matic T@ it's nice looking and the top of the line in hand rollers. There is an electric machine out there called the Oldham, shipped from Nashville. It makes a Cigarette but the cherry keeps falling off. I have been rolling for over a year and I average $1.00 a pack. It's not .59 but it's a hell of a lot better than &13.00 for 3 packs.

In East Brainerd the Machine's are sold on Shallowford Road across from Glen Gene's behind the gas station. He has a good selection. Also the Tobacco Mart near BI-Lo on E Brainerd has 1 but not the good kind. Remeber 4 Aces and Gambler are the same brand. I figure either way ($1.00 or $0.56) I am saving beaucoup bucks! I made the "alleged" 5 cartons of tobacco last about 3.5 cartons. Took me 20 minutes, each, to smokes those! I am still working on the exact proper amount of tobacco to "inject" into each tube. I figure I am almost at the copacetic, standard amount after some practice.
Last night I made 2 packs in 10 minutes.
Like anything, smoother is faster! ;D

I have now! I was concerned about the "Flavored" part, but after buying the 6 ounce pack and trying it, I am sold! And it was cheaper than the other "No Name" brands.
+1 for Jay.

Bummer. What was it, wood shavings from the carpenter's job site?
I better like the Southern Steel. I bought a pound of it at $11.99!

I'm about 3 or 4 packs into it and I'm starting to get used to it.
I have noticed that they taste better once left to sit for a couple of days. Think I might dump the my packages out on a cookie sheet and let it all dry for a few days.

Kudos to Jay Santos. I have found, after shopping around and sampling other brands, that the "Southern Steel - Mellow" (Blue bag) tobacco is the most economical and flavorful so far. Not much "shake" in the bag either.
I have found I need to adjust my per pack rate to 69 cents per pack. I believe I have finally arrived at the proper amount of tobacco for each cigarette. I am getting a little over three cartons per 16 ounces of "Southern Steel Mellow" as I pack mine a little denser than your average store bought smoke. Last longer and I am smoking fewer cigarettes per day.
Now I gotta convince the better half that making the kids make 'em will teach them economics, a marketable craft, discipline (Getting the right amount of tobacco in each cigarette in a timely manner without waste) and having an added daily chore is a good thing. And that the Department of Children's Services would not frown on said after-school, character building activity.

Hey, why not? My momma had me roll hers for her.
Then again, she didn't use tobacco.

Why not just put tobacco in a bong and take hits out of it? Why waste time rolling it?

Harder to smoke a bong while driving.
