We have a new boat downtown - the Fat Cat. It is the new Water Taxi and IMO the best bang for your entertainment dollar since the $1 Carousel. On the hour from 10am to 9pm the Fat Cat departs Ross's Landing. 15 minutes later it departs from Coolidge Park. Then it goes around McLellan Island and back to Ross's Landing. For $5 ($3 for kids) you can ride once or as many times as you want for the day. They serve beer for $3 (Bud, Bud Light, Mic Ultra) and soft drinks. You can even bring your dog - what more could you want?

Looks pretty cool. Is this something that is permanent or is it only here for a limited time?

They have Sirius radio so you have a wide range of music to choose from. I hope you have better luck than me. A beautiful day out on the water - of course I requested Jimmy Buffet. Unfortunately what was on that channel was a live version of "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw". As it was a family crowd I knew the channel would change soon, but I was struck by the irony of someone complaining it was inappropriate for children. I wonder if they know where children come from. If a lot of folks didn't do what the song says there would not have been all those children...

"Of course I requested Jimmy Buffett" ?!!!!!!! I've created a monster! This thing looks like a party just waiting to happen!!... Maybe we could get them to expand the beer choice just a bit... and can we bring guitars and drums?? Cant think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon!!

Thbbbbt!
Like they would have listened if I said Manson or Rob Zombie. Jimmy was the right music for the right time - well, almost...

my boss's nephew owns the Water Taxi business, if we want to do a party or something there, let me know, I can see if I can get a good deal

FYI the charter cost for the Fat Cat is $350 an hour for a minimum of two hours.
We'd need a deal or a lot of folks to fully take it over.

If you pay and get on, do you have to get off? We could have a constantly rotating notta party.
Gain a few Loose a few ride repeat

You do NOT have to get off. Just ride around as much as you want!
Combined with a nice spring day, a cookout, and playing tourist, we could have quite a time! Anyone for a Notta Spring Fling?
About dusk we could grab some boxes and go sliding down the Cherokee Pyramids over at WTF? Park (aka Renaissance)!

On the hour from 10am to 9pm the Fat Cat departs Ross's Landing. 15 minutes later it departs from Coolidge Park. Then it goes around McLellan Island and back to Ross's Landing. Sounds like the Manhattan Circle Line, only a lot shorter, cheaper, and no senile tour guide.

I like the idea. Trust me. At $5 a head and cheep beer, it'll be cheeper than chartering the boat and if enough of us show up - we'll take it over. Anyone else with any sence will stay on the shore. *The Shore. I'm still a maid on the shore - OH!*
(Sorry. Had a Molly moment there.)
BTW - KC, did you get any of the Parrot beads?

It is cheap for on a boat. Typically any time boats get involved prices skyrocket.

I talked to my boss today and we can get a discount if everyone really wants to get together one day. I just need to know when and how many people...
