Democrats: "But I didn't inhale!" "I never had sexual relations with that woman!" "Depends what your definition of 'is' is."
Nugent: "I got a one year deferment, and I'm embarrassed about it. I was wrong."

Ted Nugent was being interviewed by a French journalist. The journalist asked, "What do you think the last thought is, in the mind of a deer, before you shoot it? Is it, `Are you my friend?` or is it `Are you the one who killed my brother?'"
Nugent replied, "They aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next', and 'can I run fast enough to get away'. They are very much like the French in that regard."

His own words..
(Nugent claims) that 30 days before his Draft Board Physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and a week before his physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether, virtually living inside his pants caked with excrement and urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment.
What a badass. In fact he describes what a badass he would have been if he had not gotten the student deferment while he was doing 300 shows that year....
"… if I would have gone over there, I'd have been killed, or I'd have killed, or I'd kill all the hippies in the foxholes … I would have killed everybody," he told the Detroit Free Press in an interview published July 15, 1990."

I'm referencing his knack for having what Roger Waters described as "The bravery of being out of range". He's such a badass, except for when his country needed him to step up.

But if you wouldn't want him to serve it seems you would be happy that he didn't and that he did what he did to stay out. Had he gone in and had conducted a My Lai all by himself like he sounds like he would have then his actions to avoid service was an act of service to this country. Wasn't it?

Where did I say that I didn't want him to serve? What if everybody had acted the way he did? He got a student deferment while also claiming that he did over 300 shows that same year and the next. Maybe we could have a look at his student transcript. Let's make a deal, Obama's BC and Nugents transcript.
I wouldn't even care if he had objected to the war for moral reasons. It's the acting like he's some sort of badass, uber American, chicken hawk that bothers me.
Wanna chicken out of going to fight when your country calls on you? Fine, but then shut the fuck up.

I'm asking. Would you want him serving in the US Military? Would you serve beside him?

I know that liberals are confused by the very concept of someone admitting they were wrong and apologizing and trying to make up for it, but come on, quit thinking liberal obfuscation and lying is the norm.

I'm asking. Would you want him serving in the US Military? Would you serve beside him? I would guess that he wouldn't be that way if had been in the military. He would have followed orders and damn sure wouldn't have been shooting at the guy in the foxhole with him, who just like him would have been trying to keep the enemy from killing both of them. Lot's of shit talking gets done from "over here". It changes when they get "over there". Stay alert, stay alive, and you might get to go home in one piece. He would have learned that real quick. Instead he showed up at the draft board as a degenerate hippy with a weeks worth of shit and piss stains on his pants. Then, after the war, and old enough to avoid future ones, starts talking shit about what a badass mutherfucker he is and would have been if he had served. Gus, it's not about forgiveness. It's about the fact that he wants it both ways. Chicken shit at the time. Warrior now. He beats the drums of war for todays young men, when he was too much of a pussy to do it himself. Just like Cheney. Just like Bush. Just like Gingrich. Just like Limbaugh. Edited to add: Yes. I would serve beside him because I would have had no choice.

Okay, you will not take him at face value when he tells you he would "kill, kill, kill" but you want to take him at face value when he says he spent a month ignoring hygiene and a week shitting and pissing in his pants. Personally, anyone who would do what he claims he did to get out of the draft I wouldn't want serving and I would certainly believe them when they said they would be crazy enough to "kill, kill, kill."

Bush served. He disclosed all his military records, including his honorable discharge.
Something Kerry refused to do.
And recognizing and admitting an error and correcting course... I'm not surprised that a liberal ass doesn't get it.

Kerry served with honor in the Navy. I despise the bastard but he did step up and go to war. Can't say the same for Clinton, Cheney or Gingrich. Bush also served, used his families influence to get a cushy party position in the Alabama National Guard but he did serve. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing if given the opportunity.

I was listing for Gus' benefit. Yes, there are plenty of draft dodgers on both sides, but most of the chicken hawks are on the right.

I haven't seen many quotes where Obama has talked about how he would totally kick ass either.

Apples and oranges, Ted avoided the draft because he didn't have the balls to serve his country when he was called.
