Thanks, Grubo, I obviously am accurately reflecting you (try again tomorrow, imbecile) MiDo (Ah still kick hippie ass) and tsavodent (drool, slobber, snark). And if you object to variations on the theme of English translations to your nom de board (worm, grub, maggot), change your name a la MiDo's suggestion. Happy early bird!!! Wow, that's really deep! And a great way to keep a conversation going, I might add. You're obviously the sharpest tack in the bunch.

And yet the only reply you have is to call names and have absolutely nothing of substance.
Kind of telling.

Obama is very much a racist. Racism is racism, no matter at whom it is aimed or who is doing the aiming.

What's really troubling is that Beck promotes libertarian principles. People who do that are only rabble-rousers. Just ask England.

The government has to cut.
And like typical politicians, instead of cutting something unnecessary, they are cutting something that is necessary.
I say good for them.
And hopefully the citizens will rise up and boot them out.
It's like schools cutting popular programs to get the people to give in to a tax increase; they're playing politics and not trying to cut spending.

Gus, that assumes that incomes are going up at the same rate that expenses are going up. Recently, that's been far from the case. You also are not taking into account the reduction in State income due to unemployment levels as the economy dove, causing an extra increase in State expenses without an equal increase in income. Therein lies the problem. People have less wealth, plus they have more expenses, yet instead of making cuts, the government wants to take more from those who earn it. In other words, sometimes a State using deficit spending is necessary and good. The problem comes in when the overall wealth doesn't go up and occasionally pay down some of that debt during better years. There's nothing wrong with deficit spending in and of itself. The problem lies in how it's acquired, how it's funded, and how (or if) it's paid off. My guess is that cutting the police force is not the wisest choice. However, cuts are a wise choice. It's always easy to spend someone else's money.

PM, what you're missing is that as incomes go up, taxes go up proportionally. When spending increases faster than that, then there's a problem, and demanding more money just because they say so is very progressive. "Pay for it now and we'll root out the corruption later" simply doesn't work; never has.

If they are taxing us at 20%, if incomes go up 50%, guess what? Their intake goes up accordingly.
However, their spending goes up faster than their revenue, and in the real world, you can't do that.
For example, after the tax cuts in the early 80's, tax revenues increased by 65%. However, spending increased by more than 100%.
Are they cutting in the right areas in Camden? Maybe not. But, trying to bleed a turnip dry doesn't work, either.
And getting a second source of income involves getting it from more people. So, perhaps you are right; start making everyone pay taxes and not just the upper 50%. That would double the number of people paying.

And when our expenses go up, we cut spending.
We can't just magically demand more money from somewhere.

I saw a guy get killed in SC in a minor 25 MPH bump that knocked him over and he hit his head on a curb.
I also saw a guy at the Arai 200 take a spill at 185 MPH and he walked away from it with 45 stitches and nothing else.
Safety equipment makes a big difference, but not enough of a difference.

Actually, "liberal" and "conservative" are both subjective and are dependent upon the canon against which one measures it. "Progressive" and "libertarian" (little "l") are both definable, although the "liberals" hijacked it again, just as they did when they abandoned the name "Marxist" back in the early 20th century.
So, "libertarian" is the only one that is easily definable and not completely subjective.
And based upon the canon of the US Constitution, there hasn't been a conservative in a very long time.

It's a serious question.
We've had progressives of different varieties, and only a handful of conservatives and libertarians.

I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
When I did a google on it, there seem to be a lot of people with the same problem, and that's always the recommendation. But it still seems odd that the first one worked without a hitch.

I just find it odd that it worked fine on the first disk and now won't work on the rest.

I think hypocrisy and double-standards are much worse than name-calling.
Jesus called names, when it was deserved, but he condemned hypocrisy.

I just tried to use my dual layer DVD burner for the first time. It worked fine.
Then I tried to burn another disk, and it gave me an error that said something about an address jump problem. I tried it 4 or 5 more times with different files.
Any ideas?

Bob, I think relating how hard it was helps prepare him for what to expect.
I quit when my son was born a little over 18 years ago. I chewed a lot of gum. It took me about a year before I quit craving and the stuff started to stink.
But, I could walk through the woods and hunt without huffing and puffing, and I bought myself a brand new motorcycle with what I saved. I also found out who my true friends were; they put up with me when I was in my grumpy mood and were still supportive.

We haven't had a real, effective death penalty in many, many years, ever since the progressives took over. It's so hobbled that a) odds are, it won't be used and b) if it is, it will 20-30 years.
The death penalty, when used properly, is 100% effecting in stopping repeat offenders, and is a very strong deterrent to crime.

No, but the USA requires the long form of Marines going to Afghanistan.
They also required it for my wife to get her passport.
And right now, she's having to use her long form to get a new certified (short) one because the short ones are so easy to fake and don't contain all the info.

Progressives come from both parties; two different ways to achieve the same end; the total destruction of all individual liberty.
