Okay, I've got one question. If y'all pull this party off are you inviting the Crazy Beer Lady? After all, it sounds like she's providing the beer.

Sounds great to me! We can bring some shrimp and wine and beer. Maybe invite the poor lady! (kidding). But I know I must know her. Maybe rent the Red Bank Lion's Club parking lot!

Hmmmm... I would say get the VFW again, that place ROCKED! But they don't allow BYOB. I would volunteer the back deck of B&B (it's close to the beer) but the weather isn't quite warm enough for an out door party yet. Let's keep this happy thought going. After all, it doesn't have to be ON Fat Tuesday to be a Notta Mardi Gras.

There's a nice, secure area at 601 Walnut Avenue. No roof at the part I'm thinking about, though, so maybe not.
It is, however, convenient for, uh over-exuberant partiers.

I saw the CBL (Crazy Beer Lady) slowly meandering across Dayton Blvd. near your place Friday afternoon with a brown paper sack in her hand.
Traffic had to stop to let her pass.
I foresee an unfortunate ped crash in the near future unless Red Bank installs a "Drunk Pedestrian Lane" as part of the Stimulus Package.

Since I decided to stop "Stealing from the less fortunate" - some one else seems be be 'cleaning up' after her. Don't know who. I jolly well HOPE it's the Lions as she has been stashing her beer and trash on their property. I sure as heck hope it was not the local kids.

Oh Lord.
Crazy Beer Lady Update.
My mom spoke to a lady at her church who's husband is a former Lion a couple of weeks ago. Right after that, we didn't see much of CBL and there was very little if any trash left behind the Lion's club building. We were celebrating that maybe the Lions had done something about her or that she had finally gotten a clue and gone somewhere else.
No such luck.
Apparently, she was just out of money at the end of the month. Yesterday, I peeked out the window. I had not remembered to look for a couple of days. There was a HUGE pile of trash out there! When I went out to clean up, there were at least FIVE full six packs and a lot of smelly empties all in a heap of white plastic bags and ring holders. Four six packs weren't even broken. I'm telling you, this woman is CRAZY! What the heck is the point of buying two six packs, drinking part of one, stashing the other, then never coming back for it? That pile was tumbling over it was so high!
I am so getting over feeling guilty about picking the stuff up. Apparently, we haven't been seeing her because she now sits on the back step of Lion's club to drink instead of sitting under my bathroom window. If she is sitting RIGHT NEXT to the beer she bought on the last trip, and not drinking her own 'stash' - then it's 'trash'. I just refuse to leave it out there for all the kids who walk through there.
FYI - My mom also spoke to some of the local kids who come in and spend their allowances on Saturdays. They know her as "That woman who drinks beer all the time." They don't know her name, but they know where she lives. It is just across the creek and two houses over. So, at least now we know WHY she chooses to walk across our bridge, buy beer at the Tobacco shop across Dayton Blvd. and sit in our area to drink it. It's the most direct path. We just don't know why she doesn't take the stuff HOME! I'm assuming whoever she lives with does not allow it in the house.
Oh well. The Natural Ice pile is growing again.

Aside from being an irritation because of the trash, and potentially harmful to neighborhood children, this is a very sad story, all too familiar.
Some years ago, a friend of mine who was a dedicated runner used to pick up litter as he ran before dawn through the streets of Lookout Mountain. Amongst the other trash, he noticed a number of beer cans individually bagged, and empty. In most of the bags there were varying amounts of change, and occasional bills. He recycled the trash and kept the money.
After a little research and observation, he figured out that a chronic alcoholic who lived with his mother was buying one beer at a time at a convenience store, driving around while he drank it, then throwing it out wherever he was. Some nights he might circle around to the store several times.
This man had been through many jobs, and many efforts by friends and his mother to get him sober. Never happened. His mother would not permit alcohol in the house, so the nightly tours of neighborhood streets, centered around the convenience store.
Both the man and his mother are long dead, but their story sticks with me.

OMG! Totally un-hawt CBL has a boyfriend!
Yep. I peeked out the window yesterday and saw her sitting and drinking with a man! The two of them got up and headed back across the street toward the tobacco store where she buys her beer. Now I know why I haven't been seeing much beer out there. She seems to have found a 'friend' to help her drink it all.

I saw the pile of Natty Ice. Ms Scarlett is understating the issue. If ANYONE out there likes that Natty beer, make Ms Scarlett and your liver happy and go get some free beer from her

Now that she has a friend, the flow has slowed to a trickle. Thank heaven!
And I'll still have some for the Summer Notta BBQ.
