It's all ok. The kid couldn't touch the pedals so they couldn't get far.

Y'ever notice, these subhumans never seem to leave a kid in the car when it's pleasantly cool and cloudy? It's always on the hottest days of the year. Always. It really makes you wonder.

Actually, they probably do, you just never know about it because the kids don't die when it's pleasantly cool and cloudy.

Yes Gus, you're probably right.

Instead of lethal injection, they should be stuffed in a car somewhere in a desert and suffer 2nd degree burns before they die.

Child Dies After Left In Hot Car For Hours 15-Month-Old Boy Found At Business Parking Lot posted May 1, 2007 A 15-month-old boy has died after being left in a hot car for hours at the parking lot of a Chattanooga business Tuesday. Chattanooga Police responded at mid-afternoon to Unishippers at 6005 Century Oaks Dr. at Bonny Oaks. The toddler had been locked in the car since 8:30 a.m. and suffered second-degree burns over most of his body, Sean Paul, of WGOW Talk Radio, reported. The mother arrived on the scene after police and an ambulance was called to take her to the hospital after she found out what had happened. She declined transport and was treated on the scene, it was stated. Police said the child was taken to the Children's Hospital Emergency Room.

She declined to go to the hospital?! She was probably right...she'd have been lynched. Apparently, it was a rather expensive car, and I heard that her husbanc owned the business. Wouldn't you have thought that they would have remember at some point during the day. I let wasps and any other flying insect out of my car before I shut them in on a hot day!

More on Toddler Death
Submitted by Kristen Johnson on May 1, 2007 - 10:41pm. News Police charge a Chattanooga father with the death of his child. Chattanooga police say 43-year-old Robert Reid has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and aggravated child abuse and neglect. This comes after 15-month-old Timothy Reid was left baking in a smoldering car earlier today..at the Chattanooga business Unishippers on Century Oaks drive... Police say Reid dropped his three older children off at school but failed to drop off Timothy at daycare. Anybody wanna bet this worthless, piece of shit sperm donor (His name and the word "Father" should never be in the same story) will serve less than three (3) months for this crime?

This is statement provided by Lt. Tim Carroll of the Homicide Unit in relation to the infant death that occurred last evening.
Mr. Robert Reid W-M, age 43 will be charged with:
39-13-212. Criminally Negligent Homicide. 39-15-402. Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect.
May 1, 2007, 1526 hours; Chattanooga Police, EMS , and Chattanooga Fire Department responded to 6005 Century Oaks Dr . at the Unishippers business on an unresponsive infant. The business is owned by Mr. Reid and his wife.
On police arrival; Mrs. Reid was attempting CPR; Chattanooga Fire Department Engine 6 took over CPR until EMS arrived and confirmed the infant dead at the scene.
The investigation has revealed that Mr. Reid left his home with the infant (Timothy Reid age 15 months) and his three other children (girls ages 10 and 6, and a son age 12) and dropped off the three children at a local school and daycare.
The three older children were dropped off at the school. Mr. Reid apparently failed to take Timothy Reid (in a car seat behind Mr. Reid) into the daycare center and drove to his business arriving at approximately 8:30 am.
At approximately 3:20 pm Mr. Reid went to his car (2002 BMW M5) and found his son unresponsive and took him inside his business. Chattanooga Fire Department First responders did a thermal imaging reading of the BMW and found the inside of the car was 142 degrees and the infant was in the vehicle for almost 7 hours.
This case is being investigated by the Homicide Unit, Child Abuse Unit, and Child Protective Services.

While I was listening to Talk Radio this morning, I could not believe the number of people calling in to say they could see how this man could have forgotten his child. The excuses I heard were he was just following a routine, he may have been under stress, blah, blah, blah. This is a BABY folks!!! Did he never once look in his rear view mirror from the time he dropped the other kids off at school until he got to the office? The baby seat should have been in the middle of the car. HOW COULD HE MISS THE BABY SEAT? Good grief, even if the child were in a booster seat in the side of the car, you can still see them if you look in your stinking rear view mirror.

Devil's advocate here, I guess.
There's a difference between intentionally causing such grievous harm to a child and just screwing up - even this much. I can imagine that this guy, Reid, is probably kicking his own behind much much harder than anyone else can, and he'll have to live with it for the rest of his life regardless of any legal penalties he incurs. In other words, I'm trying to put myself in his shoes. It hurts.

I don't care what was going through the father's head...I don't care about schedules, routines or anything other than the baby being left in the car all day long. There is no excuse. The torture that baby endured before he died is incredible. I can only hope he succumbed to heat exhaustion & was unconscious before he received the 2nd degree burns. I'm the same age as that man and I have a baby about the same age. The thought of forgetting him in the car horrifies me. It is unthinkable. Whatever punishment the court system metes out to this man will be nothing as compared to what this will do to his marriage and his relationship with his three surviving children. If he doesn't take his life first, he will live in hell for the rest of his life.

Maybe it's just a "mother" thing....but I call to check on my kids during the day, and frequently look at the clock and think about where they are or what they are doing. I have my absent-minded mornings, but I just can't imagine completely forgetting my child was in the car with me.

In all honesty, I usually don't call the daycare where my son is. I don't want the teachers distracted from the toddlers...they're quick & crafty little things, including my little guy. They can reach me at any time & I'll be there in 5 minutes or less.

We all make mistakes but this is more than one can escape by saying "oops".
But as long as the devil's advocate card is being played, when this man is incarcerated, what will that do to the surviving children? The state won't exactly provide a new father when theirs is locked up.

the original report said that someone found the child and called the mother, when she got there, she was performing CPR until the ambulance got there. Now this latest report says the dad went to the car to go pick up the 3 other kids from school, saw the child and took it inside the building, performed CPR until the ambulance got there. What's the real story?? Is dad trying to alter facts to make him look like a hero after his fatal mistake??

I totally agree. People need to calibrate their goddamn shock and glass breakage sensors to keep their cheap-ass WalMart alarms from going off all the time.
