12/08/08 In reference to the early morning shooting, Major Crime Investigators have gathered this much information: - According to investigators 3 men from McMinnville TN brought their friend to Erlanger Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
- Nathan Frisk 26 died at the hospital as a result of this injury.
- According to the friends they came to Chattanooga to visit a club, they found the club closed and as they were leaving they pulled in front of a White Honda Civic occupied by 4 black males, they exchanged words and told the 4 in the Civic they were looking for a club.
- The friends followed the Civic to another club that was closed and they got into an altercation, one of the men in the Civic began firing a gun, the friends then ran in separate directions, they later met up back at the car and found that Frisk was missing; they found him lying shot on the side of the road.
- Investigators still do not have a location on this shooting; the three friends were not familiar with the Chattanooga area.
- Police are looking for a White Honda Civic with 4 black male suspects.

12/08/08 According to Sgt. Mark Haskins of the CPD Regulatory Bureau, Saturday 6 December the Chattanooga Police Department Regulatory Bureau in conjunction with the Community Anti-drug Coalition across Hamilton County conducted a compliance check of Hamilton Place Mall area businesses. This check was to insure businesses are following local and state laws governing alcohol sales to underage persons. Twelve businesses were checked and nine passed. Three businesses sold to the underage buyer. The nine businesses which passed the check were: - Sticky Fingers 2031 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- Big River Grille 2020 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- Abuelo’s 2102 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- P.F. Chang’s 2110 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- El Meson 2204 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- J. Alexander’s 2215 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- Red Lobster 2105 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- Acropolis 2210 Hamilton Place Blvd.
- Olive Garden 2200 Hamilton Place Blvd.

Last night around 1:15 am Chattanooga Police attempted to stop a vehicle driving recklessly on Hixson Pk.
The vehicle stopped in the 3600 block and the officer arrested the driver for DUI. During the initial contact the officer observed the driver chewing on something white and asked the driver what he had in his mouth, the driver replied 2 Hydrocodone pills, at that time the drive spit the rest of the tablets out. During the search of the vehicle several other pills were found.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. While at the jail Eric Painter W/M told the jailers he had taken Hydrocodone, Zanex and Percoset. Mr. Painter was then transported to Erlanger, the officer stated he and Mr. Painter talked on the way to Erlanger and when they made the turn into the parking lot Mr. Painter slumped over in the seat.
The officer immediately notified the emergency room staff that his prisoner was unresponsive, with the assistance of ER staffers Mr. Painter was taken inside where he showed no visible life signs. He was resuscitated and eventually moved to the ICU for observation. His condition is now stable and no longer life threatening.
As soon as Mr. Painter is released from the hospital he will be booked for DUI.

Monday, December 1, 2008 Chattanooga Police are looking for a woman who robbed the Volunteer Bank at 6825 Shallowford Road this morning.
Police were called to the bank just after 9 AM on a robbery. Witnesses stated that a black female dressed in a gray hooded sweat shirt and jeans entered the bank and showed a teller a note. The teller advised police that she wasn't able to read all of the note because the suspect removed it quickly but was able to read the statement "nobody will get hurt". Afterwards, the teller recognized the suspect as the same person who is believed to have robbed the volunteer bank a few weeks prior to this incident. The suspect was able to get an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene in a maroon colored car. No one was injured in this incident. Sgt Jerri Weary, POI Chattanooga Police Department

Police are on scene of a bank robbery that just occurred at 3535 Brainerd Road .
According to bank employees, a black male entered the bank around 3 pm wearing a black leather jacket and navy colored hooded sweat shirt. The suspect stepped up to the teller and unrolled a noting saying to hand over $3000 and no one would get hurt. The suspect took the money and fled the bank in an unknown direction of travel.
This is the third time in less than two months that this bank has been robbed. Police are checking the possibility of this suspect being the same individual that robbed the bank last month.

Chattanooga Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred at 1115 Overlook Ave.
22-yr-old Brian Peek showed up at Memorial Hospital yesterday evening just after 5pm with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Peek told police that he was at 1115 Overlook Ave when an acquaintance attempted to rob one of his friends. When he stepped in to intervene, the suspect shot him. Peek was able to provide police with the suspect’s street name and police are currently trying to identify the suspect.
The suspect is believed to be a juvenile however, that information has not been confirmed.
Charges in this case are pending further investigation. Peek’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department are looking into a domestic stabbing that happened last night at 2802 Dodson Avenue .
According to officers on the scene, Martin Sims, brother-in-law to Jeff Dunton, stabbed Dunton repeatedly following an argument over a theft that occurred at the residence. Officers were outside the residence finishing the theft report when the altercation broke out.
Dunton suffered life threatening injuries during the assault and was taken to Erlanger Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for stab wounds to the kidney area, shoulder, arms and neck. Dunton’s current condition is serious.
Sims was immediately taken into custody and has been charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault. He is currently at the Hamilton County Jail.

Attenro Foster, the father wanted by police for failing to report the injury of his 8-month-old son following a car accident two days ago, turned himself in to police earlier this morning.
Foster was arrested on six outstanding warrants. He is currently in the county jail.

A Chattanooga man, attacked in his hotel room last night was taken to Erlanger Hospital after being severely beaten in the head. Willie Beard told police that just before 8 pm; he answered a knock at his hotel room door and was surprised by two black males dressed in all black. One of the suspects had a gun and began beating him in the head with it.
Beard said that he was forced on to his bed where the beating continued. The incident was interrupted by the hotel manager who overheard the commotion and came to investigate. The suspects were able to escape in a dark colored sedan prior to police arrival. The motive for the incident has yet to be determined.
Beard’s current condition is unknown however, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A crash that killed a pedestrian yesterday has been ruled accidental.
21-yr-old Brice Nathaniel Stewart was attempting to cross the 1900 block of Gunbarrel Road yesterday in a non-crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound. According to witnesses, Stewart was leaving the side of Gunbarrel near Chili’s when he began to cross the road. One vehicle slowed for Stewart when the driver noticed him trying to cross. Another vehicle approaching in an adjacent lane could not see Stewart as he darted out into traffic.
The vehicle struck Stewart head-on. He was transported to Erlanger Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. No charges will be filed against the driver of the vehicle in this case.

Traffic Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a pedestrian hit in the 1900 block of Gunbarrel Rd.
The incident occurred around three o’clock today after a man attempted to cross the road from the west side of the road to the east side. Traffic in one lane stopped to allow him to cross. As he ran across the road, a car in another lane struck him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has not yet been released. As more details become available, more information will be released.

The body of a woman found yesterday off of Mountain Creek Road has been identified as 54-year-old Virginia Rowley. Rowley was reported missing back on September 22, 2008, to the Red Bank Police Department. Police are still awaiting the manner of death as to be determined in the Medical Examiner’s report.

Chattanooga Police were called out to 1801 Gunbarrel Road on a suspicious person call.
Police were advised that a white male wearing a blue/gray uniform was observed lurking in the area of the back parking lot. They said that the man ducked down behind an employee’s vehicle for several minutes, reappeared, and then ran off of the lot. Further inspection of the employee’s vehicle revealed a device that had been placed under the car toward the rear.
Members of the Chattanooga Police Department BOMB Squad responded to inspect and remove the device. Employees of the business were evacuated as a precaution while the device was removed and detonated. It was believed to be a GPS device and arson investigators will resume the investigation of the incident.
The owner of the vehicle, Shannon Boyd, was questioned to develop suspect leads. Investigators are looking into the possibility of it being her husband because of the physical description of the suspect. No charges have yet been filed.
Employees were allowed to return to work around 10:40 AM.

A deliverer for Pizza Hut informed police that he was robbed and shot at while attempting to deliver a pizza. The incident happened around 7 pm yesterday.
John McGahee told police that while enroute to a delivery, a vehicle drove up behind his flashing its lights and blowing its horn. When he pulled over to see what was wrong, three black males armed with pistols emerged from the vehicle and pulled him from his car. One of the suspects took $80.00 from him and another suspect shot at him. The bullet barely missed McGahee’s chest but did strike his clothing.
McGahee described the suspects all as black males ranging in age from 18 to 30. The oldest suspect was of heavy build wearing a blue bandana over his face; the second suspect had long dreads; and the third suspect had bad-looking twists in his hair. McGahee said they all wore dark colored bubble-type jackets and fled the scene in a dark colored Pontiac sedan.
Chattanooga Police are asking anyone who has information about these suspects to contact police at 423-698-2525.

City of Chattanooga Public Works employees stumbled upon a body today while clearing brush for a gas line.
Chattanooga Police were notified of the event just after 3 pm and responded to a wooded area behind a clubhouse for the Villages of the Greenway located off Mountain Creek Road . The body is female. Police are waiting to confirm her ID after the Medical Examiner’s report.
The manner of death is unknown but will also be determined during the M.E.’s examination. When more information becomes available, it will be released.

Chattanooga Police Communications are asking the media to advise the public that the overturned vehicle with the body hanging out on the Goodyear parking lot at 5400 highway 153 is a Halloween stunt, not a traffic accident.
The 911 operators are being flooded with calls and would appreciate the medias help in getting the word out.

An elderly woman was attacked in her home last night when several black males kicked in her door and began beating her.
Lenora Moses told Police that four black males kicked in her front door and began beating her with a gun. They demanded to know where the drugs were. Moses stated that the incident was interrupted when two of her son’s came home and chased the suspects off. The sons reported that the suspects fled down Towerway Drive and shot at the sons as they ran away.
Ms. Moses was transported to a local hospital for her injuries. Her current condition is not known. Investigators are still working on this case.

Police are investigating an early morning shooting that happened outside 2208 Glass Street .
The victim of the shooting, Barron Smith, told police that he was standing in the parking lot of JJ’s Lounge when a Cherokee pulled up. He said a white male driver stepped out and started shooting at him, then got back into the truck and drove away.
Smith was hit once in the abdomen area. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment but his current condition is unknown. Investigators will continue to follow leads in this case.

The latest additions of the Toyota Prius to the City of Chattanooga fleet were assigned to Police Service Technicians working in the downtown area. The Toyotas replaced Chevy Trackers and are expected to be more fuel efficient than the Trackers.
According to Brian Kiesche of Fleet Services, the Prius gets an average 34 mpg to 49 mpg which saves about $2000 a year with the current cost of fuel. This is in comparison to the Ford Taurus or other typical mid-sized sedan.
The Prius has been in use by the city since 2004 and with the new additions, the city now has a total of 14. All but the last three vehicles are in use at the Public Works division.

Chattanooga Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 2706 Bell Arbor Avenue.
Edgar Beltran, Alejandro Gallegas, Octavio Beltran, and Fernando Manrique told police that they were followed home by three black females and one white female after leaving Club Tornado around 2:30 AM Saturday morning. Thirty minutes later, several black males returned and forced their way into the residence where the victims were assaulted and $500 was taken from them.
All but one of the victims suffered minor injuries. Octavio Beltran was transported to the hospital but was expected to be treated and released. Police are following up on suspect leads in the case.

Cole N. Howard was arrested Sunday by Chattanooga Police Property Crimes Investigators following and investigation of an attempted robbery just two days before at 903 Beason Drive .
According to the victim, Raymond Burns, he was dropping off his friend Kimberly Partin and her boyfriend when he was jumped from behind by Howard. Although Burns was physically able to get away from Howard, Howard continued his assault against Howard’s car. Burns drove into a dead end street while attempting to get away.
Burns stated that Howard threw ceramic tiles through his windshield and that he and Partin were showered by the broken glass. Burns suffered a minor injury in the attack but Partin wasn’t injured. Howard was found and arrested for attempted robbery, 2 counts of aggravated robbery and vandalism over 500.

Chattanooga Police responded to a call of shots fired last night at 2221 E. 28th Street .
Shortly after arriving at the location, investigators were advised that a victim turned up at Parkridge Hospital with a reported gunshot wound to the arm. The victim, Monteast Moore, told police that he was getting into his car when a suspect ran toward him and fired several shots; one of which struck him in the arm.
Investigators have identified a suspect but have not yet released his identity pending warrants in the case. Moore ’s current condition is not known however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Three people shot early this morning following an incident at Club 2301 sustained multiple injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
21-yr-old Antoine Armour was shot three times; in the head, right arm, and right Shoulder. 27-yr-old Ellis Roberson was shot in the right leg and Allen Tucker was shot in the upper left shoulder. It’s believed that Armour was shot inside the club while the other two were shot when the incident moved outside.
According to witnesses, a fight started inside the club. As security attempted to break up the fight, a suspect pulled a gun and began shooting. As patrons attempted to flee the gunfire, the shooting continued outside where the second two were shot.
An officer enroute to a call heard the shots and was able to get on-scene as the incident unfolded. Other responding officers were able to apprehend three people and a gun that was discarded near the parking lot of Franklin Strickland Funeral Home.
Of the three taken into custody, two suspects are believed to have a direct connection to the incident. Police arrested Michael Owens on five outstanding warrants; violation of probation; setting fire to personal property; escape; and 2 juvenile attachments. The second suspect is a juvenile.
Charges for both suspects from this incident are pending further investigation.

Chattanooga Police are on-scene at 2301 Milne St trying to determine the details of a shooting that's sent three people to the hospital. According to witnesses, an argument broke out between several patrons inside Club 2301. That argument quickly errupted into gunfire. It is believed that at least one person was shot inside the club and 2 the others outside.
A patrol officer enroute to a car damage call heard the shots and was immediately on-scene. Several persons were observed running from the club in a panic. Police were able to apprehend 3 potential suspects and a gun just a short distance from the club.
A total of 3 victims have shown up at area hospitals claiming to have been shot in the incident. One of the victims is believed to have sustained life threatening injuries. No other details are known at this hour but investigators will be working through the morning to gather evidence and more information.
When more information becomes available, it will be released.

Three people are dead following a single vehicle accident. A caller informed police that a vehicle lost control and left the interstate near Spring Creek Rd. Police found the vehicle enbedded in brush with three of the six occupants confirmed dead on the scene. The other three were tranported to an area hospital in fair condition.
It is not known what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway nor why there were so many people in the vehicle. Investigators and emergency personnel will continue to work to clear the accident scene and recount the details of the accident.
The names of the deceased and remaining victims are currently unknown.

Tuesday, October 07, 2008 Chattanooga Police are working on identifying a suspect from a bank robbery this morning. The Suntrust Bank located at 3535 Brainerd Road was robbed at 9:51 today after a white or light complexioned man entered the store and told the teller to hand over $2000 in 20 dollar bills. Although he didn’t show a weapon, he told her that if she complied no on would get hurt. The suspect is described as a white male or possible light complexioned male wearing jeans and a dark shirt. The suspect was spotted moments after the robbery at the Walgreens on Germantown Rd leaving with a barefoot white female wearing a tan shirt and brown capris. The suspects were said to have left in a red car. Anyone with information on these suspects is encouraged to call Chattanooga Police at 698-2525 or the FBI Safe Streets Task Force at 265-3601. Home Invasion at 3225 Navajo Drive October 3, 2008 Chattanooga Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred at 3225 Navajo Drive late Friday night.
According to Jinney Wiesendanger and Virginia Warrick, two black males with guns, kicked in the front door and demanded their money and valuables. The women were made to take off their clothes and go into the bathroom.
Shortly there after another resident of the house, Carla Hernandez, and friend Christopher Sanford attempted to enter the home while the suspects were there. After not being able to get in the front of the home, they went to the rear where they encountered the suspects.
Sanford advised that he was able to knock the gun from a suspect’s hand and flee from the back door. He ran to a neighbor’s house where he called police. While calling police, he realized that he’d been shot. The women in the house were able to escape through a rear bedroom window while Hernandez and Sanford encountered the suspects.
The witnesses described the suspects as 2 black males between 5’4 and 5’7, thin build wearing all black clothing. All occupants of the home were treated for minor injuries. Sanford was treated for the gunshot wound to his thigh. Police are still working on this investigation.
Robbery at 3635 Brainerd Road on October 4, 2008
Chattanooga Police are investigating a business robbery that occurred at the Family Dollar Store located at 3635 Brainerd Road.
According to witnesses, the manager was confronted by a gunman while in the store’s back office. The gunman demanded money and gave instructions to the manager to get money from the safe and cash registers.
Several witnesses observed the incident and gave the same account to police. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, wearing blue jeans and a baggy striped polo shirt. He was able to get away for $600. No one was injured in the incident.
Property crimes investigators are working on establishing a suspect identification.

Chattanooga Police have arrested a 17-yr-old Hispanic male in connection with a hit and run accident that occurred last night at 2010 E 12th Street .
The incident happened just before 7:30 when a 3-yr-old male was struck after running around his mother’s car and into the street. The mother of the victim advised police that they were parked on the side of the road, getting out of the car at the time of the incident.
The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned a short distance from the scene of the accident moments after hitting the child. At 1 o’clock this morning, police located the suspect and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and insurance law.
The child is currently in critical condition at T.C. Thompson’s hospital.
